about

Pressure Drop's debut album was written, recorded, produced and mixed between 1990-1991, in a rented room situated in a house near Ladbroke Grove, London, which was used by the independent record company Big World as offices. Upset was recorded using a Fostex R8 analogue tape recorder, an Akai S1000 sampler (with 2mb memory stored on floppy discs) and a Seck 1282 mixing desk. It consisted of 11 full tracks and featured six guest vocalists who were mainly unknown at the time, including performances by Joanna Law, the sister of Simon Law who played piano with Soul to Soul, Mark Cornell, who later formed the band Sunchilde and Rob Gallagher and Constantine Weir of Galliano. As well as Paul Daley co-founder of Leftfield on percussion alongside saxophonist Scott Garland and up and coming jazz trumpet player Gerard Presencer.

The album was licensed from Big World to the Munich based Boombastic Records, initially this led to Upset only being released in Germany in 1992 to some critical acclaim and commercial success. Later that year Logic Records licensed it and released a limited amount in the UK as a double 12" vinyl format only, including additional mixes which weren't previously available. The first single taken from the album was You're Mine and subsequently remixed by Leftfield, also released on Logic Records.
